OPS Logistics Consultancy Ltd were commissioned to develop a complete Statement of Requirements (SoR) for a global distribution tender for a UK Government Department.  The SoR needed to be highly specific and detailed to enable potential suppliers to submit firm bids, following a strict governance process. 

The SoR was created in such a robust fashion that the client then requested that OPS project manage the entire procurement exercise.  This project went across various departments, so multiple stakeholders required engagement.  The end result was the awarding and implementation of a new supplier, improved quality of service, on a global scale, and a cost avoidance of a considerable sum.

OPS Logistics Consultancy Ltd was commissioned to conduct a full Operational & Logistics Strategy review on a leading domestic Express LTL company with over 500 locations (IBM China customer), including investigating all daily operations (C&D, PoS operations, Linehaul, etc.) and measures, work performance standards, supporting IT systems, cost information.
 
The review was manage with a range of tools and techniques, including process and pipeline mapping, critical path analysis, system analysis, and interviews, which clearly evaluated quantities, process flows, interfaces, risks, efficiencies and cost savings via benchmarking.

Cotswold Fayre, based in picturesque Henley-upon-Thames, is a gourmet food supplier, with ten years of history, supplying a selection of handmade goods to over 1,200 fine food retailers, farm shops and delicatessens.  Customers are spoilt for choice with over 1,500 product lines, sourced from the UK and as far as New Zealand and South Africa.  All of which are sourced from specialist producers such as small family businesses and cottage industries. Kingsway Communication are one of the UKs leading Christian publishers, providing books, CDs, DVDs and stationery to the UK book trade, Christian communities and a growing market supplying direct to the consumer.  A major 3PL had failed, leaving Kingsway without any form of distribution earlier in the year and a strategic decision was made by the Kingsway board to invest in an in-house distribution system at Eastbourne in East Sussex.

Royal Mail are the largest postal company in the United Kingdom, supplying a mail delivery service to every address in the Country, but with a vision which is much greater, i.e., “To be demonstrably the best and most trusted postal services company in the world.”  In looking towards the future, Royal Mail have recently invested in the creation of a new business venture (complete end-to-end document management service), which is designed to expand their capabilities outside of what has become a hard-hitting competitive Mails market, yet at the same time generating an avenue for protecting this service and developing bottom line margins.
